He was a child actor and model, debuted in January 2001 on the compilation album Daehanmingook Flex Hip-Hop as a rapper.
He realized that he liked Hip Hop listening to Wu-Tang Clan, as a child. After listening to him, he knew that he wanted to enter the world of music.
He told that his mother took him to acting classes, and to numerous castings, he said that once in a casting they asked him to cry but he told them he did not want to do it, his mother apologized and told the judges that he was going to talk to him. little Jiyong, he took it to the bathroom and began to pinch it then he went back to the casting and started crying immediately.
